Puncak Jaya  is a  peak  that is part of the  Sudirman Range  located in the province of  Papua, 
 Indonesia.  Puncak Jaya has an altitude of 4884 m and in the vicinity there are  glaciers  Carstensz, the only  glacier  Torrid in Indonesia, the roomates most likely will soon vanish due to global warming.
This peak is the highest mountain in Indonesia region of Oceania, the Puncak Jaya is one of the top seven of the world.    
  

History 

Discovery 

Plateau around the peak originally was inhabited before any contact with the peoples of Europe, and the peak known as Nemangkawi in Amungkal. Climbing History

Glaciers
